Simple project!
You will need:
Crepe paper
Floral wire
Floral Tape
Double sided tape
Floral Foam
Bowl or pot to put them in
______________________
First you wrap some double sided tape on a piece of wire:
Then you take the crepe paper
(keep it on it's roll as you wrap) and start wrapping it around the tape several times to make the beginnings of the bud:
Once you have your middle bud, you will want to start making gathers at the bottom of the flower as you go around. (keep one hand holding the gathers at all times, while the other wraps the paper around) This will help the wave shape-that will become pretty pedals of the flower:
Keep going around & around to make it fuller:
When you get to where you like it, keep a hold of the bottom of the flower and start wrapping it with the floral tape as tight as you can to keep the flower together:
You can see from this not so perfect one how the finished project looks:
Trust me, they do not have to be perfect, and you can carefully fluff out the "pedals" after your done.
Now grab your bowl, etc. and cut a foam piece to fit:
Start adding your flowers around the bowl, pushing the wires into the foam:
Till your done. Then you can leave it like that and have a bowl full of black roses:
Or you can jazz it up a little like I did with the white feathers for fun:
Have fun!!
