{Book Review} Wings Series

Wings Series By Aprilynne Pike

Three books have been released, still one more coming next year. Loved this Fairy Series!

Synopsis:

Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful—too beautiful for words.

Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings.

In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever.

When Laurel, who has never been quite a typical teenage girl, moves to a new town and starts public school (she’d previously been homeschooled by her hippie parents), one would think that meant her life was becoming pretty ordinary. While she misses being outdoors all the time, she’s getting along pretty well at her new school, and she’s made a couple of friends. All seems to be going okay, but that’s not exactly the truth; when Laurel’s family moved, her life was unknowingly taking a turn for the not-so-normal.

I think the Author has gotten better with each book. I think it's hard sometimes to follow up on your beloved characters with each book, and allow them to grow & become what feels right, but I think Aprilynne has done that with these books. I love Fairy stories, but I have read a lot the last few years, and some are just plain ick, or alright, but this one rocks! Read them today!
